Gaming Initiative

Next Session: GAMING I/2012: Karthause Gaming/Austria 10th May to 13th of May 2012
The GAMING INITIATIVE is an association of Officers- and Reserve Officers associations from
Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Croatia, Hungary, Slovenia, Slovakia, Czech Republic and Poland.
Austria as a one of the founding nation has at the moment an inactive status.

In the Karthause Gaming (near Vienna/Austria) Col Charles Ott (Switzerland),
Col prof. Arne Steinkamp(Germany) and Col Volker Zimmermann (Austria)
founded 1989 the GAMINGER fireside chat.
In 1995 the so called GAMING TALKS changed the name in
GAMING INITIATIVE to show the altered intention.
In 2002 GAMING INITIATIVE and CIOR signed a Memorandum of Understanding
with the declaration that GAMING INITIATIVE is a regional independent platform.
Trough half-yearly meetings in the member states a continuous and constructive
development can be assured.
The spring meeting is the Think Tank with country reports and speeches about specified themes.
The autumn meeting is concentrated visiting parts of the army, to get in contact with generals
and also members of the MoD.
During the last years these discussions shared important knowledge’s and highly topical themes.
Every member alliance has the possibility to take the results back home for here own adoption.
